A warm welcome to new board members!
Nov 12, 2021Please join us in welcoming Rebecca Auker ’14 and Megan Pearson ’18 to the EE/ECE Alumni Society Board of Governors.
Rebecca Auker is the Electrical Engineering Services Manager at American Electrical Power. She manages the day-to-day operation of engineers in the Columbus, Ohio office. The group is responsible for providing technical operational and maintenance expertise on a variety of fossil, hydro, and renewable electrical equipment, as well as project engineering support for capital projects. The group is responsible for establishing North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) reliability regulatory compliance requirements for the generation fleet. Support is provided to the entire AEP operating fleet.
Rebecca earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from The Ohio State University in 2014 and a master’s in business administration degree from Franklin University in 2018. She obtained her Professional Engineering License in December of 2020.
Community service has been an integral part of Rebecca’s career. Rebecca would like to bring her community service experience to our board. In her free time, Rebecca enjoys spending time with her husband Ryan and their two dogs, Kylo and Rey. She is a sports fanatic, and you can catch her cheering on the Buckeyes, Columbus Blue Jackets and Green Bay Packers all throughout the year.
Megan Pearson is a 2018 graduate of the ECE bachelor’s program, and currently enjoys a dynamic position as an engineer for Turner Construction Company. She started her career in the Washington, DC area and recently relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina.
As an engineer with Turner, the largest general contractor in the United States in 2021, Megan coordinates building drawings and plans to contract and end-user needs, engages with budget and schedule, and works on a team to ensure high-quality delivery of buildings and spaces.
She has worked in the healthcare, education, and industrial sectors, and is excited to see Turner’s name on the new FC Cincinnati and Columbus Crew stadiums. In her free time, Megan enjoys football and time on the lake, and she is excited to meet other Ohio State graduates and see the different paths other graduates have taken.
We would also like to acknowledge the return of a familiar face in Sarah Switzer ’06.
Sara is a returning board member who earned a BS in ECE with a computer engineering specialization at Ohio State in 2006 and an MBA at Xavier. Sarah is both a Senior Manager at Sogeti and a Senior Developer at Safelite Autoglass.
