Volunteer opportunity: MakeOHI/O

February 2 @ 12:00 am - February 3 @ 12:00 am

One of the great opportunities where Alums can “pay it forward” is by providing guidance and interest in the activities of current students. One of these opportunities is provided through the Ohio State OHI/O hackathon program. What started out as a small Hackathon and “Make-athon” created by student groups like the Electronics Club has turned into a multi-event calendar of events to showcase students talents and provide STEM-based outreach.

ECE Alums can help with Judging opportunities to help determine prizes. There are Mentoring opportunities to assist in the exciting stage of coming up with an idea and figuring out how to solve it. Just showing up and displaying interest can be such a boost to current students, and perhaps you will find candidates for internships or future job openings.

Volunteer

We are inviting ECE Alums to serve as mentors and judges. The time slots for mentors are flexible, but suggested are 2-6 pm or 6-10pm on Sat, Feb 2. For judges, the time slot is Sunday, Feb 3, 10am-3pm, and is fixed due to the competition schedule.

Volunteer sign-ups close by Jan. 25 at go.osu.edu/makeohiosupport. For more information, visit make.osu.edu or contact Julia Armstrong.
